Dr. Mengshol is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Mengshol’s interests include perinatal and pediatric pathology, and pathology of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. After earning a B.A. degree magna cum laude in biochemistry & molecular biology from Hamilton College, New York, Dr. Mengshol earned her M.D. degree from the Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, New Hampshire in 1999. At medical school, she was elected into the Mosenthal Surgical Society and also worked as a research associate in pre-doctoral education. Following medical school, Dr. Mengshol completed an internship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and her residency in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Mengshol completed fellowship training in Pediatric Pathology at The Children’s Hospital / University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. After her fellowship, Dr. Mengshol served as instructor in Pediatric Pathology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center / The Children’s Hospital, Department of Pathology, Denver, Colorado. During her career, Dr. Mengshol received multiple awards and has authored numerous research articles and publications. |

Dr. Sotelo is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Sotelo's areas of interest include surgical, urologic, gastrointestinal, and pediatric pathology. After earning a B.A. degree in molecular, cellular and developmental biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Sotelo received her M.D. degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado in 1998. Dr. Sotelo then continued her medical training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where she completed an internship in OB/GYN, a residency in Anatomic Pathology, and a fellowship in Surgical Pathology. During that time, she participated in a number of research projects and published several journal articles. Dr. Sotelo also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pathology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Sotelo joined UniPath in 2004 and has been a member of the pathology medical staff at Presbyterian / St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. |

Dr. Tyson is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology with subspecialty certification in Pediatric Pathology. He is also certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Tyson has extensive experience in perinatal and pediatric pathology, as well as special interest and experience in renal pathology. After receiving a B.S. with honors in chemistry from the University of Denver, Dr. Tyson received his M.D. degree with honors from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver, Colorado in 1984. He then completed his residency as Chief Resident at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He also completed there a concurrent fellowship year in Clinical Genetics. Following this, Dr. Tyson completed a fellowship in Pediatric Anatomic Pathology at British Columbia Children's Hospital in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Dr. Tyson served as staff pathologist and Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics and Pathology at Kosair Children's Hospital and University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville, Kentucky. He then joined The Children's Hospital and University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver, Colorado, as staff pathologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology. Dr. Tyson joined UniPath in 1999 from The Children's Hospital. He has since served as member of the pathology staff in several Denver area hospitals. Dr. Tyson has received numerous honors and awards for several research projects in which he has participated. He has also published extensively and has authored book chapters. |
